I teach workshops in spinning and weaving in Liverpool. These range from complete beginner’s to advanced and introduce people to heritage skills using British fibre and wool. I also source my materials from local sheep and alpaca farmers promoting a soil to soil, circular philosophy.
My workshops are useful for people who are interested in sustainability and also care deeply for the environment, but as they are a repetitive skill, they are brilliant for people with stressful jobs or mental pressures as it focuses the mind on other skills allowing the brain to take a break from pressure and stress
I also run a monthly meet up on the first Saturday where anyone with a love for wool can come and use my equipment and join in with other spinners and weavers. I’d like to build this up going forward
I work primarily on my own but with my daughter on occasion so that we can give the support to learners so that they can achieve the skills needed.
