TCR station was originally set up in 1988 by DJ’s from Toxteth in Liverpool who brought vibrant music to the airwaves sourced from the American bases and other national and international DJ’s.
Over time the station transpired into a musical, social, political platform and a training ground for young people to develop media skills across the board.
The station was resurrected online in March 2020 during the lockdown period as a way to boost community spirits and provide key information to those in isolation. There has been a lot of positive feedback via our social media and we have developed a partnership with the Unity Youth Centre where we have engaged with the young people online to create shows and are currently planning workshops.
This platform, now more than ever, is required as a hub with an objective of bringing opportunity and benefit to local people. We would like to obtain funding for a licence, room hire, equipment, and to provide paid work opportunities.
